The red Canvas Student App allows PreK3 to 2nd grade parents a better user experience due to the limited functionality of the Canvas Parent App. At the lower levels, the parents are the more direct user of Canvas, not the students. The student app will allow parents to open up documents and forms that the parent app restricts.

To use the Canvas student app:

Download the Red Canvas Student App from the App store
The Canvas Student App is a free downloadable app (iOS 8.0+, Android 4.2+) for your mobile device (phones and tablets).

(Click Icon to go to the store)
Open the Canvas Student App and find your school by typing in "DCDS" or "Detroit Country Day". The school name will show up. Select it.
Type in your DCDS credentials to open the App.
Note: It is important to use your own login information, not your child's.
You will see your child's class course cards where you can select a class and enter it.
Note: that if you have multiple children at DCDS, you can cycle through the children by selecting the white arrow . next to the child's name.
