The LS Workflow Changes are minor.
If your teacher used Canvas last year it will be simple.
If you have older students in your household, the LS workflow will look more of what you have already experienced on their Canvas courses.
The All Grade Level course will remain and be the primary landing point for each student daily and/or they will continue to use the calendar view to see all assignments.

Changes are directed in 2 main areas:

Essentials/Specials Teachers will begin working out of their own Canvas courses.
- These courses will appear on student dashboards as a course card next to their All Grade Level Course.
- Students will look at their schedule and be able to see when it is time to go into their Essentials Course.
- Students will navigate to and work out of that course.
- When completed, they will return to their All Grade Level course on their dashboard.
If Student's have a math/reading teacher other than their homeroom teacher, that teacher will begin working out of their own Canvas course.
- Students will be directed to their own teacher/subject courses e.g. Math.
- These courses will appear on their dashboard as a different class similar to an Essentials/Specials class

Important things that are the same

Students will continue to see their daily schedule in the Module for the day in their All Grade Level course.
- On the Module for the day, some module items will hold content and others will just be information, informing what is occurring at that time, so students can navigate to their appropriate Essentials or Subject course on their dashboard.
Students will continue to find assignments in their calendar on their iPads
- Teachers will continue to assign items for students in the calendar. This will occur regardless of which course the teacher is working out of. Assignments will all appear on the student calendar as what has been done since the start of the year. Any changes by an individual teacher will be communicated to you by that teacher.

In summary, think of the changes as switching from doing everything in 1 room to doing things in a building with multiple side rooms. You start in the main room (All Grade Level Class) and when needed, you move into a different room that has everything you need to do something special (Essential and Subject specific classes). When you are done with what you need for that class, you go back to the main room (All Grade Level Class).
